- Sermon Synopsis
-
- A number of years ago there was a
Scripture Song written upon Psalm 137. "By the waters of Babylon we
wept...Blind man stood by the road and cried, show me the way to go
home." It is not just the Israelites who endured captivity,
slavery and shackles. We are spiritually experiencing many of the
same things.
- Too often we find
hopelessness and helplessness to be the controlling factors of our
lives. We lose our sense of purpose and the direction of our
lives. We feel defeated and alone, because we are not "like"
someone else. We may even play the martyr, believing that we are
defeated because we have not seen instant results.
- Instead, we need to
take the time to remember. We remember the calling of God, to be
His child and co-heir with Jesus. We need to remember our purpose
of life, to live as an example of the mercy and grace of God. We
must remember our own end, not as the conclusion of what we now, but the
beginning of what we believe.
